Quick guide to uploading GPX paths to a Garmin

3 ways to transfer a GPX path to a Garmin watch

Upload GPX with a computer

STEP 1 OF 3
On your Garmin Connect account, in the "Training & Planning" section, click on "Courses".

Load gpx on Garmin via pc, step 1

STEP 2 OF 3
Choose "Import" and upload the GPX file previously downloaded to your PC. Then press "Get Started", and select a course type from those proposed (for example "Race", "Trail Running", etc...).
Customize some choices such as the name of the title or whether to activate notifications of turns in the route on your device.

STEP 3 OF 3
The route is now uploaded to your account and will also be visible in the app version of your smartphone. Send the route from your smartphone to the watch using the Garmin Connect app.
Sync your watch to make it visible on your device.
On the watch, select the activity (for example "Running"), then select "Options" and "Courses" to upload the route.

Upload GPX via iOS iPhone

STEP 1 OF 2
Click on the GPX link to download.
If the message "Saving in progress" appears at the bottom of the iPhone, click to choose where to save the file. Choose "File" and then "Open in". If you do not need to choose where to save, click directly on "Open in".

STEP 2 OF 2
Once you click "Open in", choose the "Garmin Connect" app. Follow the same instructions as via PC, i.e. choosing the type of course, saving, sending to the device and synchronizing.

Upload GPX via Android smartphone

Follow the same instructions as for the iPhone, that is, download the GPX file on your smartphone or locate the GPX file already downloaded and choose to open it with the "Garmin Connect" app.
Then choose the type of route, save, send to device and sync.
