About the event:
No other race in Canada allows you to graduate from the marathon to a longer distance. Enter the 50KM Ultra, where participants have a shot at winning Alberta beer, beef and (cowboy) boots if you can cinch the top spots. This is an IAU Bronze label event.
On race day, celebrate their accomplishments at Stampede Park (just like the real marathoners but with freezes instead of bananas duh!) when your little runner does a 1.2KM out and back. See them smile when they get a medal, a Kids Marathon t-shirt and have their favourite Calgary mascots are cheering them on, Harry and Harvey!

It is never too early to introduce children to an active lifestyle. This event is fun and gets kids excited about running while facilitating healthy family time.
It will be the highlight of their year. And yours.
The kids race is approximately 1.2 KM in length and is for kids 12 and under. Children can run on their own or with one parent/guardian, but parents/guardians do not need to register. For each registration you will receive 2 bibs - one for the child and one for the parent/guardian to run with the child or to retrieve the child from the finishing corral at the end of the race.
Children will receive a t-shirt and medal with their registration.
Download and print the free 41-day Kids kilometer chart to put on the fridge. This encourages kids and their families to walk/jog/run 1KM a day leading up to the race, marking off the days as they go.
